TALLEDEGA, ALABAMA (via insider.foxnews.com) April 29, 2016 - An 11-year-old boy shot an alleged home intruder in Talladega, Alabama, and now he's speaking out about the incident.

Chris Gaither told WVTM that he was home alone on Wednesday when someone broke into his house and walked up the stairs.

Chris grabbed a nine-millimeter handgun and called out for the man to get out of his house.

He said the burglar walked downstairs and threatened him before heading outside with a clothes hamper in hand.

"He told me he was going to kill me, f-you and all that," Chris said.

After the intruder made it out the front door carrying the hamper, Chris opened fire. He fired 12 shots at the burglar, but only the last bullet hit him.

"I shot through the hamper he was carrying. It was a full metal jacket bullet. It went straight through the back of his leg. He started crying like a little baby," Chris said.

"I hope you learn your lesson coming to this house, trying to steal stuff."

Police said the intruder, who has not been identified, will survive and will likely face charges.

What do you think of this 11-year old's actions?  Let us know your thoughts below.

The comments are the problem here, not anyone shooting someone for threatning them, stealing anything from someone but most of all entering someone’s house uninvited. Society needs pull there heads out of there aaaas! This is unexceptible and should be a no brainier when it comes to the concicuinces!

Gotta hand it to the kid, that was pretty bold. However, if that had been in California, his parents had better lawyer up, they’re gonna need it.

being a 11 year old kid, who has just been told, I’m gonna kill, you, f-you and whatever after that. I would believe the boy did what was reasonable. he was scared and fired on the bad guy. I don’t think he knows the rules of engagement which some seem to believe is to be in favor of the bad guys. maybe it will deter others thinking a kid cant defend himself or his home. the only bad thing was his aim, but he did hit him. see it only takes one.

The intruder was out the door. The threat was over. You cannot justify deadly force over a burglary. Only 1 shot out of the mag hit the burglar. The gun needs to stay out of reach of the child. He’s not capable yet.

If the intruder was out of the house, leaving, and the kid shot him from behind, don’t be surprised if charges are filed, or if the intruder sues him for shooting him. Just saying…
