TAMPA, FL (May 12, 2016) -- Police are asking for the public's help to find a man who assaulted a woman in Hyde Park earlier this week.

A woman jogging with her dog stopped to rest near Burns Park at W Hills and S Howard avenues about 6:10 a.m. Tuesday when a man approached her from behind and hit her on the head with a blunt object, Tampa police said. The man fled south on Howard as the woman ran while yelling for help.

The man was described as white, in his 20s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing between 150 and 160 pounds. He had short, dark curly hair and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, athletic shorts and no shoes.
